How to Add a Tracking Number to Etsy?
In the Print on Demand business model, accurate order tracking is important for both managing the seller’s operational process and allowing the customer to view the shipment status. For orders processed through Podbul, a tracking number is generated when the order is prepared for shipment, and this tracking information can be viewed through ShipStation.
Depending on Podbul’s integration flow, the tracking number generated in ShipStation may be automatically transferred to the related Etsy order. This allows the seller to manage the order process more efficiently without having to manually add the tracking number to Etsy.
However, if there is no ShipStation connection or if the tracking information does not automatically sync with Etsy due to a technical reason, the seller may need to manually add the tracking number to the Etsy order.
Manual entry may be required especially in the following cases:
If the order was created manually or as a Custom Order in the Podbul panel,
If the Etsy order and the Podbul order did not match automatically,
If the order was created outside of Etsy or through a different workflow,
If the tracking number was generated in ShipStation but was not automatically transferred to the Etsy order,
If an existing order was re-entered as a special order through Podbul.
When manual entry is required, the seller can go to the related order details in the Etsy panel and add the shipping carrier and tracking number to the appropriate fields. Then, the order can be marked as shipped.
Once the tracking number is added to Etsy, the customer can track the shipment through Etsy. This helps make the delivery process more transparent and makes it easier for the customer to view the order status.
